Diversification is the trademark of agribusiness in Uberaba, the city with the largest production of corn and soybeans in Minas Gerais with high productivity rates, apart from being a reference for the world in bovine cattle-raising and one of the greatest milk producers in Minas, with a production of 50 million liters per year. Cattle-raising in Uberaba is a model for Brazil and the world. The city is known all over the country for containing large animals and attracts the greatest investors in the zebu cattle selection business. The sector has been excelling over the years for its technology and genetic enhancement research. The head office of ABCZ and Expozebu, which deals in huge figures, put the spotlight of the cattle business in Uberaba.
Apart from bovine cattle, Uberaba also produces farm products on a commercial scale and part of the production is exported.
Fish breeding also holds a prominent place and the recently introduced ostrich growing is also rising.

We are the greatest corn and soybean producer in Minas Gerais, but a lot more is produced here in 140 thousand hectares filled with cultivation, only 2.5% of them irrigated: vegetables, sugar cane, fruit and even unusual cultures for the region such as peanuts, grapes and wheat.

Agro-industry
The high rural production has attracted agro-industry. In this industry Uberaba stands out for its production of dairy products, candies, irrigation equipment, particle board – through Satipel – and fertilizers, mostly phosphates, through Fosfertil (the largest in the segment in Latin America.
It also has certified seed processors, pesticide package processor and the largest irrigation equipment company in the South Hemisphere.

Field technology
With talent for agribusiness, Uberaba looks for technology to find the tools to remain on top of one of the most important segments in world's economy. The best embryo transfer technologies, for instance, are in town. And the sector will not dispense with these resources to continue engaging in the activity it has been leading for decades.

Infrastructure present in a rural environment
In order to keep up with all this potential in the rural market, there is 5.2 thousand km of rural roads allowing for the outflow of grains and millions liters of milk produced each year in the city. The rural community has guaranteed access to schooling and healthcare by means of services maintained by the City Hall.
In order to store the production, the public and private storage system has a capacity for 310 thousand tons of grains and 30 million liters of alcohol.
