Zebu breeds were born to be genetically improved in Brazil and are now ready to meet all the demands of the world's livestock. The bovine herd of Brazil has already passed 210 million head and more than 80% of this volume is made up of animals with zebu genetics. The associations that represent breeders of zebu breeds develop studies and promote breeds around the world. Brazilian zebu animals are efficient to grazing or in confinement, and therefore indicated to the most diverse management models. The eight zebu breeds present in the Brazilian Cattle Project are extremely efficient and show all their meat and milk production potential with economic viability and environmental sustainability.
